Sri Lankan Airlines New Airbus Beautiful Landing in Heathrow at Night A330-300

Well here we are on board Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL503 from Colombo CMB Sri Lanka to Heathrow LHR. After a quite a long 11 hour flight we finally make it over to London.

It's an early winter arrival around 1930GMT and pretty dark outside already. We land on 27R and gradually make our way towards Terminal 3. Since joining OneWorld Sri Lankan have altered operations from Terminal 4 to Terminal 3.

Overcast and raining here in Colombo as Sri Lankan Airlines Airbus A330-300 "City of Kolomtota" embarks on a 11 Hour journey to London Heathrow from Colombo.

Weather clears up as we leave the beautiful shores of Sri Lanka fly via the western Indian coastline over Iran and entering Eastern Europe and finally over Germany, France and crossing the channel to London.

Katunayake International Airport Ground Activity From Departures (Colombo BIA)

Another video of ground activity from the departure area of Katunayake International Airport Sri Lanka, as we wait for our outbound flight to London Heathrow on the new Airbus A330-300.

Most of the west and east air bridges seem to be occupied as Air Asia pushback opens up a space which is used later on by Mihin Lanka Airbus A320.

About half of the Sri Lankan fleet is seen towards the west of the airport apron.

There seems to be a request for a medical personal onboard Sri Lankan 4R-ABQ as it taxies to gate.

Emirates Landing in Dubai DXB from Colombo EK651 B777 300ER

Afternoon approach to Dubai DXB on Emirates EK651 from Colombo. Top flight on this relatively new Boeing 777-300ER, must say the Emirates ICE inflight entertainment seems to be getting better and found the PTVs of this 777 much better than their A380 counterparts. Nice high ceiling cabin space, for me at least.

Lovely approach passing Al Awir, bordering the dessert and passing a very residential area before touchdown.

Sri Lankan Airlines UL504 New Airbus A330-300 | LHR-CMB

My first flight on the brand new Sri Lankan Airlines Airbus A330-330. This is the first of many Sri Lankan A333s orderd and more to follow over the coming years. Seems like Sri Lankan have been using the new A333 on one of their busiest routes, CMB-LHR. 

The brand new personal TVs and entertainment systems is definietly a plus when compared to some of the older A330-200 models under Sri Lankan. The seats now have their own USB charging ports. When we flew this in April 2015 not all of the nose or tail cams were in place and I guess these will be remedied in time to come. Overall a good flight experience, outbound flight crew were very professional and excellent!

Relatively new Airbus A320 of Sri Lankan Airlines on finals to Colombo CMB International airport, departing from Singapore Changi SIN.

Lovely weather conditions on approach to Colombo over beautiful central hilly Sri Lanka.

Flight time is just about 4 hours crossing a somewhat large stretch of the indian ocean before entering Sri Lanka from the east and on finals to Katunayake International Airport.
